➡️ PLEASE READ ⬅️ Hi Minimalists, Thank you as ever for your patience, here is an update on where we are with fixes for the Android App. The network traffic is higher than ever before, which is great and also highlights where further optimisations are required. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We now have an update available to address some of the issues seen recently on Android: - Java out of memory errors MAIN_CLEANDB_RAM - Memory clean during resync for better memory handling - Looping on start up - Restore process now tells you if the password is incorrect We know there is more to be done still. After updating, if you experience any of the following issues, please follow the instructions below. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Android crashing on start up Some of you may have nodes which do not start at all - this update may not be able to prevent that and if this is your situation, you will need to restore a backup: 1. Uninstall the app, then install the latest version from the Play Store 2. Wait 5 minutes for the node to sync to the network - this will be a fresh node 3. Restore your backup from the backup/restore page. It will shut down, then reopen the app - this will be your node. 4. Wait 5 mins - it needs time to make a connection with another node and sync to the top block. 5. Check the Health page to see your top block and block time. If after 5 minutes, your node is not in sync with the current time, restart the node by selecting ShutDown from the menu in the Health page, then reopen the app and allow another 5 mins for your node to sync before using it. If you don't have a backup, you can SEED RESYNC, this can take up to 30 minutes, DO NOT LEAVE THE SYNCING PAGE. Once complete, wait 10 mins to sync to the top block. Check the Health page to see which block you are on. It may continue to run in the background so please be patient. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Node out of sync If your updated app is not crashing but not in sync with the top block. 1. Restart the node by selecting ShutDown from the menu in the Health page, wait for it to close then reopen it. 2. If not in sync after 10 minutes, try to restore a backup, WAIT 10 mins after restoring before checking your top block.
